Philosophy

Although there is a large body of educational research that supports the benefits of one-on-one tutoring, there are unique add-on benefits found when students are working together in small groups

When students are tutored in small groups, the questions of one student help others clarify their thinking and understanding.

Very often students will think they understand because they have constructed their own meaning from what is being said by the tutor. Since their meaning makes sense to them they have no questions.

But another student's constructed meaning may give rise to a question, and that question will help to clarify everyone's understanding.

Also, a subtle peer pressure comes when students work together with friends and peers to reach a common goal. We use that pressure to gently push each student.

Our Exam-Prep sessions do not exceed 6 students and are frequently smaller.
