Using the Tutor

There are three different kinds of percentage problems that the Percentage Tutor can help you solve. Here are the different Tutor screens that will allow you to enter data:

 

Do you need to find a percentage of a number? (Example: What is 60% of 10?)

Example: What is 50% of 34?

Here are some other ways the same question might be asked:

What number is 50% of 34?
If a class has 34 students and 50% are girls, how many girls are in the class?

Do you need to find the percentage that one number is of another? (Example: 6 is what percent of 10?)

Enter Your Problem

____ is what percent of ____?

Example: 17 is what percent of 34?

Here are some other ways the same question might be asked:

What percent of 34 is 17?
What percent is 17 of 34?
If a class has 34 students and 17 are girls, what percentage of the students are girls?

Do you need to find the number for which another number is the percentage? (Example: 6 is 60% of what number?)
