Elastic is a word used by physicists. It is the ability of a solid object to recover its shape once a force has changed its shape.

Rubber Band

If you drop an elastic object it will bounce when it hits the floor. More elastic objects bounce higher than less elastic objects. All materials have some elasticity. The most elastic are metals and rubber. Before you try hitting the cold and warm baseballs, try bouncing them on the floor. If one bounces higher, it is more elastic than the one that doesn't bounce as high.
